The San are some of the most fascinating people that you will ever meet. They are humble, generally petite, generous, great trackers, and can listen and talk at the same time.

They used to be hunter-gatherers, and about 70 to 80% of their meals, which were gathered by women, consisted of berries, plants, fruits, etc. The remaining portion would include meat (mainly antelopes) that men hunted. They were nomadic and moved from area to area, primarily in search of food.

Some camps in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans and the Central Kalahari offer an option of meeting the San Bushmen and believe us when we say it will be one of the highlights of your Safari. There are so many signs, sounds, and smells they can identify that can make us realize how much connection we lost with Mother Earth.

Also, through their songs, they can connect with their ancestors and seek guidance. It is a truly extraordinary event that has to be seen at least once in a lifetime!
